Going home was weird. We never really did a big good-bye thing, which I was ok with since I don’t like goodbyes. But in Chicago, Leah and Sarah had to run to catch the flight to Detroit, so I didn’t get to say goodbye to them. Something about that set me off—suddenly I realized I was in America, and felt completely unprepared for it. I sort of freaked out. But then when Christina and I got on the flight to Minneapolis, I started to feel better. I was going to Pat!
It was really nice to go home. Eat American food, have a hot shower, see my family and friends. We went out to dinner with the family, I visited the lab and hung out at Scott’s a couple of times. Jenna, Nicole, Ashley, and Zach came to visit. I taught Pat a little bit of merengue and we made mamajuana.
