Wow it's been a long time! The second half of the summ
er was resorts, going to the bar, and finishing our research projects. I'm not going to say much about the resorts; they largely consisted of going to the beach, drinking, and avoiding the drama that inevitably arises among 20-something girls. At
one of them we went caving (by which I mean walking do
wn into caves, not spelunking) which was pretty cool because in a couple of them you could swim. I loved the idea of jumping into a subterranean pool in the pitch dark, so I was in before the kid came in with the candles ("Damn, you're ballsy," Leah said when she snapped my picture). I also swung down into the pool on a rope like in the hay loft at ho
me. We went to a beach where we bought piña coladas in the pineapple, and Leah and I made a sandcastle. Oh yeah, on the same trip, we went to a beach in Cabarete where Andrew and I kayaked out through a forest of windsurfers--looks like a fun sport! At the other resort, nothing much happened except I slept a lot, learned a little salsa, and everyone was sad because it was the end of the trip.
